Note
|
Lucile Hitt Hollingsworth, as well as information in a few rootsweb databases, suggest that Eliza was not the natural daughter of Edna Fache due to age considerations. They list Edna with a 1773 birt h year obtained from her tombstone. I think Edna Fache was born around 1798 for the following reasons:
That leaves an apparent discrepency with the date on her tombstone. When I saw the tombstone, the date was very difficult to read. I could not completely make it out, although it did look like 177? . I wonder of the "7" in the tens digit of the year was really a 9. A look at the picture of the tombstone on rhitt.com shows the ambiguity in interpreting the numbers. Still, Eliza may not be the natural daughter of Edna and Lazarus. Some accounts list her last name as Wade. |
