Note

Not much is known about John. He married and had a daughter, Fanny Hitt, born 1799, died 1864, who became the second wife of Abraham Hollingsworth and was the grandmother of Mrs. H. E. Hitt of Cross Hill, SC. He also had two sons, Koon and John. It is possible he flowed south with the other Hitts. But his grandchildren John Hollingsworth, Joe Hitt, and Robert Hitt were in Laurens County. He could have left three grown children in SC.
