Note	Jesse Hitt died before 1823 as inferred from his father's will. He left a widow and seven children. He had one child, Marshall, with his first wife. After she died, he married a sister of his first wife, Nancy Hamilton, and they had six children, the oldest of whom was Jesse, Jr. This family, along with other Hitt relatives, came to Alabama. At least some of them settled in Greene County, where Jesse, Jr. died.
