Note	Martin Ball was the guardian of Evie Hitt, Lazarus Hitt's minor daughter. Rev. Ball was ordained at Bethabara Church in Laurens County, SC, in 1835 and came to Cherry Creek, MS in 1845. He was the third minister of the old Cherry Creek Church. He was a noted evangelist.
