[obituary from the Mobile Register] Camilla C. O'Connor Turpin Camilla C. O'Connor Turpin, 73, died Wednesday at her home in Mobile. The widow of Patrick Richard Turpin, Mrs. Turpin was secretary for the propagation of the faith of the Mobile Archdiocese for the past 22 years. Mrs. Turpin was a graduate of Convent of Mercy High School. She is survived by her brother, the Rev. Msgr. Patrick C. O'Connor of Dothan, Ala.; her sister, Jeanette Richardson of Mobile; six daughters, Betty T. Harvey of Hixson, Tenn., Camilla McAleer of Mobile, Annette T. Baer of Marietta, Ga., Debra T. Green of Mobile, Mary Alice Turpin of Mobile and Linda J. Turpin of Mobile; two sons, Harry R. Turpin of Atlanta, and James P. Tyrpin of Sarasota, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery of Mobile. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile. A wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. |
